UX DESIGNER, ARTIST & MAKER
Adobe Internship 2022
UX/UI for After Effects
Animation Feature
By
Sofia Ozambela,
mentored by John Nelson
In 2022, I was awarded the GEM fellowship, granting me funded education for my M.S. at Cornell University, and a dream internship in the Research organization at Adobe Inc.
During my internship, I collaborated with Principal Scientist, John Nelson, and a diverse team of engineers, software developers, designers, and animation experts to design a new feature for Adobe After Effects (AE). Our design work is confidential, but I had the pleasure of conducting UX research, interviewing AE users to prototype an intuitive animation feature, maximizing value for advanced target users. I prototyped and presented wireframes for this feature to the cross-functional team, and pitched the final product division-wide to research colleagues. My internship was then extended to further develop this product. John Nelson continued this project after my internship ended, implementing some of our design concepts in After Effects. Please learn about me and my GEM cohort's work at Adobe in the article below.
To John - thank you for selecting me for the GEM internship at Adobe, it changed my life forever. I'm so grateful for your mentorship!
